The Minor Chords chart
The minor chord is one of the most popular guitar chord types of all because Most minor keys have more harmonic possibilities than major keys and major chord progressions. Songs in minor keys often go from minor to major and back to minor. In the same song, the same chord can sometimes be both major and minor.
This chord is the polar opposite of a major chord!
It is very versatile and can be heard in genres such as:
- Rock and Metal.
 - Blues.
 - Jazz.
 - Funk.

Quick Tip
You will often see the word ‘minor’ abbreviated to a lower case ‘m’.
Like this: A minor = ‘Am’

The Dominant 7th Chord
The dominant 7th chord is used frequently in blues, rock and jazz.
It sounds great!
EVERY guitarist should know how to play a dominant 7th chord because it give music a sense of tension, which keeps it interesting.
Quick Tip
Whenever you see a dominant 7th chord on a page, it’s always written with a number ‘7’ after the chord.
For example, an A dominant 7th chord would be written like this: ‘A7’

The Minor 7th Chord
The minor 7th chord is very similar to the minor chord.
The only difference is one note.
To create a minor 7th chord you add the 7th degree of the scale.
In layman’s terms, the minor 7th chord is a more ‘advanced version’ of the minor chord.

The major 7th chord is similar to the major chord.
However, this time we’ve added a major 7th to the major chord.
Think of a major 7th chord as a more complex version of a major chord.
